What a year!

So.... been awhile.

For those that do not know, I have been working as an animator on the Guitar Hero franchise. Needless to say, it's been busy. I haven't really been able to draw as much as I like, which is my lame excuse for not updating my blog as often as I would like.

That aside, here's a sketch that I did during a meeting the other day. Kinda liked it so I gave it the ol' ink and color treatment. Hope y'all dig.

By the way, I've been working on a short since last January, and it looks like I'll be done with it by the end of the year. Once its all finished, I'll put a link up so everyone can check it out.

Just finished the animatic for a short that I am doing called "The Butterfly garden". It's really just a big excuse to animate a ninja. Looking at having it finished by June of this year.

I'm on vacation!!

Two and and a half weeks! Couldn't of come at a better time. We just went alpha at work, which included long days and short nights, so I am looking forward to catching up on some R&R.

Haven't posted art in awhile, but I plan on changing that (this time I mean it). Here's just a sketch I did while testing out my new wacom tablet. I must have call of duty 4 on my mind...

My hard drive crashed about a week and a half ago. I tried many different approaches to retain the information that was on it. Long story short, it just wasn’t in the cards.

So here’s the ringer…Although I keep reminding colleagues, buddies, and anyone listening to “back up weekly”; I failed to do so within the last month and a half.

Still stings saying that. (Even typing it hurts my finger tips).

Once my computer is back up and running with a fresh from the factory ready to use hard drive; I’ll post some more art.

Well at least it didn't take me 6 months to post again..... oh wait a minute...

Well, I am back from a long hiatus. I promise (right hand on heart, left hand up) to post much more frequently than what I have before.

Here's the quick update; Hard8 volume 2 is almost done. Keep your eyes open for it premiring the beginning of next year. Just wrapped up working on Guitar Hero 3, the game looks awesome and I am stoked to see it hit the shelves! A few big things are also in the works so check back to hear the news.

Going to try and post new art more frequently, kindof an early new year's resolution.

I'm currently teaching a character design class at the local college, I assigned my students a project where they have to create a hybrid character out of two recognizable existing characters. I did a Samurai Vampire sketch as a demo.

Wow, past couple of weeks (ok, ok, month and a half), have been CRAZY. Alot has happened, alot of cool stuff to report; such as HARD 8 IS DONE AND AVAILABLE AT CON 2006!!!
That's right folks, pick yourself up a copy this weekend of Hard 8 v. 1, with stories created by myself, Eric Haeger, Garrett Shikuma, Mike Williams, Brian Growe, Alex Deligiannis, Emmanuel Deligiannis, Matt Roberts, Eren Blanquet, Eric Gonzales, and Greg Rankin.

We also have some awesome pin-ups from David Coleman, Stephen Silver, Justin Ridge, Mike Roush and many more!

Hard 8 is fianlly off to the printers! I am so stoked to actually see the finished product. Everyone that has contributed to this anthology has created such amazing art. I definetly recomend everyone to check us out at the con this year at the Prehensil Press booth.

It's been awhile since I published. To be honest, Garrett Shikuma posted some new art so I new I better be right behind. (He's the only person I know that has had a longer absence from posting than I have).

Here is the first page of a story that I am working on. It's part of an anthology that will be available for the annual celebration of our deep rooted comic love, also known as the "con" to a few people. I am one of 11 artist that will be contributing to the book. I am very excited about this project and I encourage everyone to checkout some of the other artist at our Hard 8 Blog.
